Do you ever suggest hairstyles when you’re dressing Celebrities?
As a fashion stylist, I will work with the hair stylist on any job to help communicate the vision and achieve the look that inspires us. Her work with For the Foxes has been featured in Teen Vogue.
What makes a shampoo great to you?
A shampoo that focuses on providing shine and a good scent/smell is always a bonus.
Describe your hairstyle:
Very low maintenance. I have no time to style my hair and I am lucky if I wash it twice a week! As a fashion stylist, you have to be a bit selfless. The client is the one who needs to look amazing, a stylist is in the background making that happen, so my own hair styling definitely takes a back seat! Let’s just say…I own a lot of hats….And wear a lot of pony tails and always into a good top knot!
Hair Goals for 2016?
My personal hair goal is to get it cut more often! I barely have time to wash it and wish I could keep up with the suggested “6 week cut” schedule that I find many hair stylists recommend to keep hair healthier! I am more on the 6 MONTH plan!!
Recount a time when having flawless hair made you feel most powerful?
When I am able to style (and wash!) my own hair, I am quite basic, no frills! I have straight hair that I blow out. It is pretty thick and I feel best when it is clean, shines and shows it’s body! After a good haircut, I always feel best, it has bounce and is healthy! As I have modeled for quite a few gigs, I also feel great when on set and a hair stylist gives me great beach waves! With straight hair, it is always fun to see it changed up! Now, if only this could be a daily occurrence!
Any recent career updates?
Just started working with a professional Wheelchair Basketball player. His name is Matt Scott and he is considered the “LeBron” of wheelchair basketball. After attending a game at this past summer’s Parapan Am games, I got hooked on the sport. Not only are Matt and his teammates inspirational, but they are all into style off of the court! I traveled to Sardinia, Italy this month to support Matt Scott and the sport, toting along some fashion goodies of course, and I plan to head down to Rio this summer as Mr. Scott goes for the Gold at the Paralympics! This is definitely one of the most exciting clients I have ever had the privilege to work with!
Will you try the Smoothing Collection from Nth Degree for a month and let us know if your hair feels transformed?
Sure! I don’t put gels or products in my hair daily, but if it’s a shampoo I’ll try!
